Abbotsford keeps Christmas close to the farm. A downtown tree has stood since 1947, and a shop in Mt. Lehman has sold ornaments since 1988.

Abbotsford's best-known Christmas habit is Winter Jubilee, a downtown festival run by the Downtown Abbotsford Business Association. One Abbotsford News story called an edition the 30th annual and said the tree at the west entrance to downtown has been part of the area since 1947. Out in Mt. Lehman, Glenda Cox opened Glenda's Christmas Cottage in 1988, without a business licence at first. The city later passed a bylaw letting such shops open two months a year on farmland. She ran it from November 1 to December 23, and her daughter and son-in-law took it over.

A 60-foot tree, face painting and a 5K on December 6, 2025

On Saturday, November 22, 2025, Winter Jubilee filled Montrose Avenue with a 60-foot tree lighting, stage shows, Santa's Workshop, an Elf Academy, cookie decorating, face painting and a holiday marketplace. Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus were by donation. The event page gave 3 pm to 8 pm and listed admission as free. Two weeks later, on December 6, the Salvation Army Santa Shuffle started at 10 am at Mill Lake Park, with a $10,000 fundraising goal. For 2026, the town's tourism calendar lists Winter Jubilee on November 21 and the Santa Shuffle on December 5.
