Service dogs on SPRINTER
- Service animals ride all NCTD vehicles, leashed or harnessed unless that interferes with their work.
- They stay in a down or sit position and can't block the aisle or take a seat.
Emotional support dogs: Only trained service animals are exempt, so comfort animals follow the carrier rule. Our service dog guide explains the difference.
Tips for riding SPRINTER with kids and a dog
- Connect at Oceanside Transit Center to the COASTER or the Pacific Surfliner. Same carrier, but the Surfliner adds a $29 pet reservation and a 20 pound cap.
- Platforms are short and trains come every half hour, so have kids and the carrier ready at the door.
