Service dogs on Capitol Corridor
- Only trained service animals that perform a task for a person with a disability ride outside the pet program.
- Conductors may ask what task your animal performs. It sits under your seat or at your feet, not in the aisle or on seats.
- You can walk a service animal at stops if you tell the conductor, but most Capitol Corridor stops last under 2 minutes.
Emotional support dogs: Animals for emotional support, security or comfort don't qualify as service animals. A small one can still ride through the $29 pet program. Our service dog guide explains the difference.
Tips for riding Capitol Corridor with kids and a dog
- If you usually ride with Tap2Ride, buy a regular ticket for the dog days. Tap2Ride can't carry a pet reservation.
- Skip the Quiet Car and Cafe Car when you board. Pets aren't allowed in either.
- Stops are quick, so have the carrier zipped and kids ready at the door before your station.

Rally gets scared in a dark tunnel, then hears happy cheers and sees the sun. Underground stations and tunnels on Capitol Corridor can rattle a nervous dog the same way. Read the tunnel page together before you go; it's in our free coloring and activity pack.
