It is on Tuesday 1 December from 10am to 1pm and is free, including a photo with Santa. Activities may be subject to availability, so arriving earlier in the morning is wise. Photography and filming take place during the event; let the organisers know if you would rather not be photographed. The village has accessible bathrooms, mobility parking and wheelchair access. Bay of Plenty Youth Brass brings together players from more than eight schools around the region for an end-of-year Christmas concert. The programme mixes traditional Christmas carols, jazzy festive favourites and popular concert music, including songs from The Greatest Showman, and there are a few chances for the audience to join in with well-known carols.
The concert is on Friday 4 December from 6.30pm to 7.30pm at St Peter's in the City on Spring Street. At an hour long it is a manageable length for children, and under 16s go free. Students and seniors pay $10 and general admission is $20, with proceeds supporting the youth band. The band is made up of young players, so it is a lovely chance for children to see other kids performing.
Parent tip: Under 16s are free, so it is an affordable family outing; tickets are booked through Humanitix.
