Tulsa City-County Library invites families to South Broken Arrow Library for a weeknight visit with Santa. Children can bring their wish lists and tell Santa what they are hoping for, and the library sets out activities to keep kids busy while they wait their turn.
Complimentary digital photos are offered, so there is no need to pay for a photo package. The event is free and drop in, with no registration, and the library lists it for ages 0 to 100, so siblings and grandparents are welcome too. It runs for an hour and a half on a Monday evening, which can mean shorter lines than weekend Santa visits.
Parent tip: Have your child's list ready, and arrive early in the 6 to 7:30 pm window if you want a quicker turn with Santa.

Tulsa City-County Library hosts this one-night holiday story time in the Rams Room of the Owasso Community Center. The evening centers on a reading of Chris Van Allsburg's classic picture book The Polar Express, with carol singing and hot chocolate to go with it.
Pajamas are welcome and encouraged, so kids can come ready for bed. The library hints at a few surprises and a little extra holiday magic before the night is over. The program is listed for everyone, it is free, and no registration is shown. Because it runs from 7 to 8 pm a few days before Christmas, it works well as a bedtime outing for younger children.
Parent tip: Note the venue is the Owasso Community Center, not the library branch. Put kids in their coziest pajamas.

Safari Lights returns to the Oklahoma City Zoo from November 14 through January 3, 2027. The main experience is a drive through tour of large wildlife themed light sculptures, and a separate walk through course starts at the zoo's entry plaza with a musical light show, interactive light exhibits, s'mores stations and photo spots.
The tourism board listing also mentions kids activities, festive treats and themed photo opportunities, and this year adds a private decorated sleigh ride for up to seven guests and a private heated igloo for groups. Drive thru and walk thru admission are sold separately, and hours and prices are posted on the zoo's Safari Lights page, so choose your format and night before buying. The drive through option is handy for toddlers or chilly evenings.
Parent tip: Decide between drive thru and walk thru admission before you buy; the walking course has the s'mores and interactive displays.

The Metropolitan Library System invites children ages 7 to 12 to the Warr Acres Library, just northwest of central Oklahoma City, for an hour of Christmas crafting after school. Kids will make several holiday crafts while festive music plays.
The afternoon also includes a Christmas cookie and a cup of hot chocolate, so it has the feel of a small holiday party. The program is free, but the library asks families to register through the event page, since craft supplies are planned by headcount. It suits school-age kids who are a little old for preschool story times but still love a hands-on holiday project.
Parent tip: Register ahead through the event page. It runs right after school, so plan pickup times accordingly.

A story for the drive home
A morning with Santa or an evening of holiday stories tends to end the same way: tired kids, a long drive and one more book before bed. Our picture book follows Rally the corgi on his first train ride to see his grand-paw-rents, and every page is painted by hand. If your family is spending December missing someone, it was written for that too. For the car, print our free corgi and train coloring pages.
