The signature attraction of A Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland is ICE, which this season brings scenes from the film Home Alone to life in more than two million pounds of hand-carved ice. Guests put on warm parkas to walk through the 9 degree, 19,000 square foot frozen world of Kevin McCallister and the Wet Bandits, and kids can ride a two-story ice slide or a child-sized slide.
The Christmas season runs November 6, 2026 to January 2, 2027 at the resort on Opryland Drive. Tickets are required and prices are not listed on the page, but activity passes bundle ICE with ice tubing, a scavenger hunt, gingerbread decorating and ice skating. Around the resort, families will also find more than five million lights, Photos with Santa, a Build-A-Bear Workshop and the Pinetop village with live music and hot chocolate.
Parent tip: Parkas are provided, but dress kids in hats and gloves for the 9 degree temperature. Activity passes can save up to 30 percent if you plan to do several attractions.

Nashville Children's Theatre, the country's oldest youth-centered professional theatre, presents Ken Ludwig's Twas the Night Before Christmas this season. The story starts with the famous poem, then takes a turn: a mouse is stirring because Santa missed his house last year. What follows is a wild adventure with a mouse, an elf and a spunky little girl who will not take no for an answer.
Performances run November 21 to December 27, 2026 in the intimate Copeland Studio black-box theatre, where general seating puts families just steps from the performers. The show is recommended for all ages, and the theatre says every NCT show is sensory friendly. Families can download a social story ahead of time to help children know what to expect, and the page includes a readiness guide.
Parent tip: Seating is general admission, so arrive early for spots up front. Download the social story from the show page if your child is new to live theatre.
