Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show offers a completely new Christmas production in 2026. On Christmas Eve, a mystery visitor's presents disappear, and pirates Calico Jack and Blackbeard and their crews end up caught in the middle. The Crimson and Emerald crews battle over the prized holiday booty ashore, across the decks, in the water and high in the air around two life size pirate ships, and the tale closes with a lesson on the real treasure of the season.
During the performance, guests eat a four course holiday meal. The site's frequently asked questions mention a kids menu, a sign that children are welcome at the table. The show is offered on chosen dates from Nov 4 to Jan 2, so choose a day when booking. The page gave no ticket prices, so look over the ticket choices at the venue's website before you plan the trip.
Parent tip: Reserve ahead and choose a day on the ticket page, as performances happen only on certain dates.

Wonders of Christmas, a seasonal magic extravaganza, is billed by the theater as an experience full of wonder for people of every age. Illusionist Charles Bach turns Christmas wishes into reality, conjures magic out of milk and cookies, makes snow fall indoors and welcomes a guest in a red suit. Seasonal music, dancers, costumes and lighting complete the show.
Performances take place in the cozy Wonders Theatre at Broadway at the Beach from Nov 14 to Jan 2. Start times change from day to day, and the venue's website carries the full schedule, so choose your day and time while booking. Prices were not given in the text we looked at. A theater show indoors is a useful choice for families visiting Myrtle Beach on a wet or cold day, and the small room lets kids see the stage from nearly every seat.
Parent tip: See the venue's show schedule for dates and times, and reserve early for weekends near Christmas.

For about six weeks, Winter Wonderland at The Beach turns the Boardwalk into a walk through winter, with palm trees wrapped in snowflakes and the whole district lit from Ocean Boulevard to the pier. The lights come on nightly from 5 to 9 pm starting Wednesday, Nov 25, and stay on through Jan 2. Walking the Boardwalk is free, and the organizers invite the whole family.
The season includes several highlights that are listed separately on our page, including the Nov 28 tree lighting with Santa and the Merry Myrtle Festival on Dec 11 and 12. Other dates on the calendar include a Twinkling Two Miler on Dec 8 and a Light Up the Night bike ride on Dec 10, where riders decorate their bikes. The Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance produces the event and says the full schedule, parking and maps will be posted on its site before opening night.
Parent tip: Stroller friendly and easy to do in short stretches. Check the event site for parking maps before you go.

The Winter Wonderland at The Beach tree lighting is described by organizers as the night everybody brings the kids. Expect snow flurries on the coast, hot cocoa and Santa at Plyler Park on Saturday, Nov 28. It is the official kickoff for the downtown Myrtle Beach holiday season, with the Boardwalk lights already glowing nearby.
Santa is listed at Plyler Park on two dates, Saturday, Nov 28 and Saturday, Dec 5, so families who miss the tree lighting crowd can still bring a camera for a photo with him. The event site does not list start times yet, and says the full schedule, parking and maps for the 2026 to 2027 season will be posted before opening night, so check back close to the date. The Winter Wonderland walk itself is free, and Plyler Park sits close to the Boardwalk, which makes it easy to combine the visit with a stroll through the lights.
Parent tip: Times were not posted when we checked, so confirm the schedule on the event site before you go.

The Merry Myrtle Festival is a highlight of the Winter Wonderland at The Beach season in downtown Myrtle Beach. The organizers promise snow on the boulevard, a hot cocoa crawl on Friday night and sled races under the lights on Saturday. It happens on Friday, Dec 11 and Saturday, Dec 12, while the Boardwalk lights glow nightly from 5 to 9 pm.
The festival is part of a free, walkable season produced by the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance. Specific start times and locations for each activity were not yet posted when we checked, and the site says the complete schedule, parking and maps will be released before opening night. Families should plan to make a short evening of it, combining the festival with a stroll along the Boardwalk. The cocoa crawl on Friday is a good option for children who like a warm drink and a little exploring.
Parent tip: Bundle up and check the Winter Wonderland site for times, parking and map details closer to the date.

The City of Conway lights its 2026 city Christmas tree on Thursday, Dec 3 at 6 pm, at the corner of Main Street and Third Avenue beside City Hall. The ceremony is short, listed from 6 to 6:30 pm, which makes it an easy stop for families with young children who may not last through a long program.
The tree lighting also opens Conway's Rivertown Christmas Celebration, which continues on the following Thursday nights with extended shop hours downtown. If your children enjoy a small town atmosphere, plan to stay after the countdown to walk Main Street and look at the decorated storefronts. Conway Downtown Alive, the group that promotes downtown, lists the event on its calendar but did not post a price or additional activities when we checked, so treat this as a simple community gathering around the tree.
Parent tip: Downtown shops stay open until 8 pm on Rivertown Thursdays, so you can pair the lighting with a short stroll.

Downtown Conway's yearly Rivertown Christmas Celebration opens Thursday, Dec 3, when the City of Conway lights its tree on Main Street. More activities follow on the next two Thursday evenings, Dec 10 and Dec 17, from 6 to 8 pm. Downtown shops stay open until 8 pm on all of those nights, giving families time to browse and view the living window displays.
Music is played downtown every Thursday evening, with groups playing outside Conway City Hall at the meeting of Third Avenue and Main Street. Conway calls itself South Carolina's holiday capital, and the evenings carry a cozy, small-town mood well suited to a leisurely family stroll. The event page gives no ticket price, and anyone can stroll downtown. Parents with little ones might arrive early, ahead of the crowds and the evening chill.
Parent tip: Wear warm clothes for walking outside and expect to park on the street downtown.

The Conway Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade takes place on Saturday, Dec 12 at 10 am in historic downtown Conway. A morning start is a plus for families with young children, since it avoids the late hours and colder temperatures of an evening parade.
Conway Downtown Alive lists the date and time and points to a separate information sheet from the chamber for route and entry details. Conway's Christmas season also includes the city tree lighting on Dec 3 and the Rivertown Christmas Celebration on Thursday evenings, so a family could build a weekend plan around the parade and an afternoon downtown. We did not find a posted route or street closures on the calendar page, so check the chamber's parade information before you go. Watching a parade from the sidewalk is free.
Parent tip: Check the chamber's parade information page for the route and road closures, and arrive early for a curbside spot.

Dashing Through The Glow gives families an early look at the Great Christmas Light Show on foot. The roughly two mile route is a non competitive walk or run through the lighted park, and everyone is encouraged to wear a holiday outfit. Prizes go to the best dressed individual and the best dressed family. The route ends at Santa's Village, where finishers get a cup of hot chocolate and can try some of the activities.
Tickets are $25 for adults and teens 12 and up and $10 for youth 11 and under, and the entry fee includes a finisher medal and hot chocolate. Children in strollers can join with a paying adult at no cost, though they do not receive medals. Park gate entry runs from 5:30 to 6:45 pm on both Friday, Nov 20 and Saturday, Nov 21. Participants park at the start and ride a shuttle back to their vehicles at the end.
Parent tip: Print your ticket before you arrive, since the barcode is scanned at the gate. You must be inside the park before 6:45 pm.

The Great Christmas Light Show turns the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex into a park wide lighted celebration. Families drive a two mile route past more than 500 custom displays, some as tall as 55 feet, including new animated figures and holiday scenes where the lights seem to come to life. Plan on roughly 30 to 45 minutes behind the wheel, which suits little ones who like to watch from the car seat.
After the drive, you can park and walk the lighted boardwalk to Santa's Village for hot chocolate, s'mores and a visit with Santa. The village is open Thursday through Sunday from Nov 27 to Dec 6 and nightly from Dec 10 to Dec 30, except Christmas Day. Standard vehicles pay $25 on village nights and $20 on select non village nights through Dec 9. Tickets are sold only at the entrance gate, with no online sales.
Parent tip: Bring cash or a card for the gate, since there are no advance tickets. Golf carts, trailers and boats are not allowed in the drive through.

Santa and his friends gather at McLean Park for the lighting of the North Myrtle Beach city Christmas tree. The city describes an evening of stage performances, Christmas music, caroling and refreshments, billed as a great start to the holiday season. The local tourism calendar also notes kids' activities and visits with Santa, so children have something to do while the crowd gathers.
The event is free for everyone and begins at 6 pm on Tuesday, Dec 1. McLean Park is at 93 Oak Drive in North Myrtle Beach. Because this is a weeknight and an outdoor program, it works well as a short evening outing before bedtime. Pair it with the Great Christmas Light Show later in the month or the city Christmas parade on Dec 5 for a full week of local holiday fun.
Parent tip: Dress for cool evening air and bring a blanket or small folding chair for little ones.

It would not be Christmas at the beach without the annual nighttime parade in North Myrtle Beach. Lighted floats and decorated vehicles from groups all across the area travel through town while neighbors line the route. Entries are judged and awarded, and a special guest announcer calls the action from near Oak Drive North and Main Street.
The parade begins at 2nd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard, heads south to Main Street and Ocean Boulevard, then turns right onto Main Street and continues to Ye Olde Kings Highway, where it ends. It steps off at 5:30 pm on Saturday, Dec 5. Watching a parade is free, and the lights make it a good fit for children who like a little sparkle after dark. Check the city page for any route or weather updates before you head out.
Parent tip: Arrive early to claim a curb spot near Main Street, and bring warm layers since the evening can turn cool near the ocean.

Yes, but they have their own guide. Santa trains and holiday train rides are listed in our Myrtle Beach Christmas train rides guide, so this page sticks to story times, Santa visits and other events off the rails.
How do you confirm these events?
We list an event only after we find this season’s date on the host’s own website or an official city or tourism calendar. We last checked every listing on November 2, 2026. Hosts change details, so always confirm on the host’s page before you go.
Event names belong to their hosts. Rally Takes the Train is a family picture book and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any host listed here. Confirm dates, times and prices on each host’s own site before you go.
