Liverpool ONE's much loved Christmas Toy Parade returns on Saturday 14 November 2026, created in collaboration with outdoor arts company Walk The Plank. Dancing toys and festive characters parade through the shopping district, with Santa himself joining the procession, so it is a free way to start the season with children in the city centre.
The centre is also adding a brand new 30 metre Christmas tree at Paradise Place that visitors can walk through for the first time, plus new light canopies and the return of the bauble arch, reindeer and angel wings for photos. Through December, Festive Thursdays bring free live entertainment and choir performances, and a free Wishmas day with entertainment runs on Saturday 5 December.
Parent tip: Check the Liverpool ONE Christmas page closer to the day for the parade route and start time.

Around the grotto the site has a covered real ice rink with skate hire included, eight children's rides alongside bigger thrill rides, an ice maze, games, festive food stalls and twenty thousand light bulbs strung through the site, which the organisers say look best after dark. The whole site is step-free. There is no parking on site, but there is plenty within a short walk. Ice skating tickets start from £12.50, and the wonderland is operated by Icebox Live.
Parent tip: Sign up on the website for grotto release dates; skating sessions start from £12.50.

The tagline is "Mirror mirror on the wall, the biggest panto of them all", and the show promises costumes, comedy and festive fun for families. BOXPARK Liverpool's IceBox rink in the Baltic Triangle is back and bigger for 2026, open daily from 16 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. New this year, families can Skate with Santa: between 19 and 24 December there are two special sessions each day, at 12pm and 1pm, giving children the chance to skate alongside Santa himself.
All IceBox sessions last 45 minutes and include skate hire. Child tickets are for ages 3 to 12, children must be with an adult, and there is a maximum of two children per adult for safety. Places in the Skate with Santa slots are limited, so the venue recommends booking well in advance. A sensory friendly session with fewer people, softer lighting and quieter music runs every Sunday at 10am.
Parent tip: Early bird discounts do not apply to Skate with Santa tickets; skate aids are not included in ticket prices.

The Everyman Street Café on Hope Street becomes a little pocket of Christmas for four mornings just before Christmas, as Santa and his elves welcome families for stories, crafts and gentle festive fun. It has been created with very young children in mind, so little ones can meet Santa in a warm, relaxed setting and take part at their own pace.
Children hear a festive story, join in simple Christmas activities, write a special letter to Santa and have a photo moment, and each child takes home a small gift. Sessions last 45 minutes and start at 11.15am on Saturday 19, Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December. Tickets are £7 per child, and adults do not need a ticket, although only two adults per child can attend.
Parent tip: You can add a festive hot chocolate and gingerbread for £6.95 or a children's lunch box for £4.50 when booking.

Santa's Secret Forest is a fully immersive Christmas adventure at Orrell Hill Woods in Hightown, closer to walkthrough theatre than a traditional grotto. Families step into one unfolding story across a large Christmas world, helping the elves save Christmas Eve in Santa's Sleigh Garage, posting letters down a magical chute in The Mail Room and lending a hand in the Toy Workshop and Elf Village.
The journey ends at Santa's cosy house for a personal moment with him, and families can also see Santa's reindeer in their woodland home. For 2026 there is a new entrance tunnel, an upgraded illuminated woodland trail with 3D snowflake glasses, and magicians and puppeteers at the new Burrow. It is open from 21 November to Christmas Eve, with sessions through the day and evening.
Parent tip: Some sessions sold out early; outside food is not allowed, but the Merrywood Market sells festive treats.

As darkness falls, Knowsley Safari transforms its Foot Safari into a world of light and festive adventure for the Christmas season. The all new extended illuminated trail winds past dazzling displays and glowing animal installations, with sparkling pathways, enchanting woodland scenes and magical surprises around every corner.
Visit Liverpool lists Enchanted from 20 November to 24 December 2026, describing it as a perfect way to kick off the Christmas season with festive treats and family moments along the way. It is an evening, outdoor event, so warm layers and sensible shoes help, and it works well for children who enjoy animals and light trails rather than a seated show. Check Knowsley Safari's own booking pages for evening times and ticket prices before you travel.
Parent tip: Book a timed entry in advance and dress for an outdoor evening walk.
